Barbara Zapiór is a Tutor in the School of Psychology at the University of East Anglia's Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a Master of Sciences in Developmental Psychology from the University of East Anglia (2020–2024). Her research focuses on language and conceptual development in infancy, particularly category learning in naturalistic environments. She combines head-mounted eye-tracking studies of parent-child interactions with computational methods like machine learning.
Her recent research outputs include two conference posters presented in 2024: 'Beyond rigid familiarisation procedures: Infant category learning from naturalistic child-perspective recordings' and 'Novel scene category learning at 14 months.' These studies explore innovative methodologies to understand early cognitive development.
Zapiór is funded by the ESRC SENSS Doctoral Training Partnership, supporting her exploration of developmental science and language acquisition. She has not yet been noted for scientific awards, but her work contributes to advancements in understanding infant learning processes.
Her research integrates interdisciplinary approaches, bridging developmental psychology with computational techniques to study real-world interactions. Current projects emphasize the application of machine learning to analyze naturalistic data from parent-child dyads.
