Barbara Stenni

Barbara Stenni is a Full Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics, and Statistics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She leads research in environmental geochemistry, glaciology, and climate science, with a focus on Antarctic ice cores and water isotope dynamics. Her work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, including studies on climate variability, snow metamorphism, and ecohydrological systems in vineyards.

Stenni’s research integrates field observations, modeling, and advanced analytical techniques like Continuous Flow Analysis. She contributes to international projects such as the Beyond EPICA–Oldest Ice Core initiative. Her office is located at the Scientific Campus in Mestre.

Key areas of research include isotopic signatures in precipitation, surface processes in Antarctica, and the impact of climate change on glacial systems. Recent studies analyze the March 2022 heatwave’s isotopic imprint and long-term precipitation records at Concordia Station.
