Barbara Lucchini

Barbara Lucchini is a Clinical Professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). She serves as Head of Service for Endocrinology and Diabetology at Ospedale Regionale di Locarno since 2018 and at Ospedale Regionale di Bellinzona e Valli since 2020. Her expertise spans diabetes mellitus, metabolism, thyroid disease, and bone metabolism.

Education: MD from the University of Lausanne (2005), PhD from the University of Bern (2013). Specializations include FMH in Internal Medicine (2011) and FMH in Endocrinology/Diabetology (2016). Professional experience includes roles at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, St. Gallen Cantonal Hospital, and others.

Research interests focus on metabolic disorders, diabetes management, and endocrine systems. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in national/international medical societies.
