Eva Koetsier

Eva Koetsier is a Senior Consultant (Leitender Artz) at the Pain Management Center of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland and the Anesthesiology Service of the Ospedale Regionale di Lugano. She also serves as Head of Research at the Pain Management Center and holds the title of Privat Dozent as a Private Lecturer at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) since 2021. Her roles combine clinical practice, research leadership, and academic teaching within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Koetsier completed a Master’s in Law (2001) and Medicine (2005), specializing in Anesthesiology at VU University Medical Center Amsterdam (2011). She further pursued a clinical fellowship in Pain Management at OLVG Amsterdam (2012) and earned a PhD from Maastricht University in 2020. Her career includes legal consulting, columnist work on anesthesia-related legal cases, and committee roles in the Dutch National Anesthesia Association.

Her research focuses on minimal invasive spinal interventions, neuromodulation, and psychological aspects of chronic pain. She balances clinical commitments with advancing pain medicine through interdisciplinary studies and innovation in therapeutic approaches.
