Barbara Heinze

Barbara Heinze serves as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Ear Science within the UWA Medical School at The University of Western Australia, reflecting her active role in clinical and translational research focused on hearing disorders.

Her research expertise centers on audiology and otology, with specialized focus on cochlear implant outcomes, speech performance evaluation, and remote care technologies for hearing-impaired populations. She investigates clinical efficiency improvements through digital health solutions like Remote Check and Remote Assist systems, addressing critical gaps in post-implant patient management.

Dr. Heinze currently leads research initiatives funded by industry partners:

• Project CLTD5764: A Post-Market, Prospective, Multi-centre, Open-Label, Comparative, Interventional Study evaluating Adult Cochlear Implant speech performance and clinic efficiency using Remote Care technologies versus standard care (Cochlear Limited, March 1, 2025 - March 1, 2026).
