Barbara Gili Fivela

Barbara Gili Fivela is an Associate Professor at the University of Salento's Department of Humanities. Her research focuses on phonetics and phonology, including acoustic/articulatory/perceptual aspects, intonation production, and applications in language learning and medical contexts. She is affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Language (CRIL) and the Diffused Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Research Applied to Medicine (DReAM).

Education: Philosophy (University of Turin, 1994), Advanced Course in Linguistics (Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, 1995-1998). She has conducted research at institutions in Germany, France, and the US.

Research interests span prosody, segmental/prosodic articulatory features, phonetics in language acquisition, and clinical speech analysis. She has authored over 100 publications in linguistics journals and conferences.
