Dr. Barb Hoekstra serves as a Professor of Education at Dordt University, where she trains future Christian educators and supervises student teaching. Her academic journey includes an Ed.D. in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Dakota, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University, and a B.A. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Theology from Trinity Christian College.
- Research Focus: Christian pedagogy, teacher calling, and faith integration in education.
- Community Engagement: Collaborates with Dordt President Erik Hoekstra to cultivate relationships with students, families, and alumni. Active in the ministry All Kids Can, serving under-resourced communities.
