Dr. Craig Stiemsma is a Professor of Kinesiology and Department Chair in the Health and Human Performance (HHP) department at Dordt University. He holds an Ed.D. and M.Ed. in Physical Education from the University of South Dakota, as well as a BA in Physical Education with a History Minor from Dordt University. Dr. Stiemsma integrates his Christian faith into his teaching and student mentorship.
- Research Focus: Kinesiology, motor learning, sports psychology, and substance abuse prevention.
- Professional Contributions: Co-authored a key article on kinesiology internship best practices in Kinesiology Review and provided expert commentary in U.S. News & World Report on physical therapy school admissions.
- Service Roles: Advises the Pre-Physical Therapy club, serves on the Graduate Education committee, and participates in the Online Learning Task Force. Former head coach for women’s basketball and men’s soccer teams at Dordt.
