Education:
- Ph.D. in Political Studies, Queen’s University, 1988
Research Interests: Her scholarship bridges political theory and cultural analysis, examining how aesthetic forms (literature, art) shape political narratives. Key themes include postmodernism’s impact on political discourse, the paradoxes of European identity in Turkish contexts, and the ethical dimensions of globalization. She critiques traditional nation-state frameworks through case studies like Bilkent University’s urban development.
Professional Contributions: She has reviewed seminal works in SubStance and published book chapters that challenge conventional understandings of masculinity, solidarity, and decolonization. Her 2018 article on ‘Delightful Horror’ reinterprets warfare through a lens blending literary and political analysis.
