Banruo Huang

Banruo Huang is a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, affiliated with the Craig Hawker Group at the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL). He previously studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and UC Berkeley.

• Undergraduate: Shanghai Jiao Tong University (B.S. in Chemistry, 2017)
• Graduate: UC Berkeley (Joined Toste Group, focused on gold catalysis and photoresponsive materials)

His research interests span Organic Chemistry and Materials Science, with a focus on gold catalysis—chemical reactions facilitated by gold catalysts—and photoresponsive materials, which change properties in response to light. These areas intersect with broader themes in Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Synthesis, and Functional Materials.
