Dr. Kinlock's research integrates biological and psychosocial perspectives to examine social/environmental determinants of health, with focus on stress pathways, chronic illness, and maternal outcomes in vulnerable populations. His community-driven approach centers on translating findings into interventions that address systemic inequities in healthcare access and quality for Black and minority communities.
Analysis of his 2015-2021 publications reveals dominant focus on prostate cancer disparities among Black men (medical mistrust, depression, treatment delays), complemented by HIV research on hormonal contraceptives, discrimination-smoking links in African American men, and racial identity effects on Latino health outcomes. This corpus demonstrates consistent commitment to intersectional health equity research across biological, behavioral, and policy domains.
Dr. Kinlock serves on the Baltimore Social-Environmental Collaborative’s Equitable Pathways Steering Committee, acts as Guest Editor for the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and leads the NIH-sponsored Community Engagement Research Alliance as incoming Principal Investigator. He also co-investigates MSU's Maternal Health Coordinating Center Collaborative and directs Scientific Research Consultants.
