Dr. Balbir Gurm, an esteemed nursing faculty member at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Faculty of Health, is renowned for leveraging her academic privilege to address societal issues. With over 30 years of experience, her career spans clinical roles as a staff RN, CNE, and coordinator in Vancouver hospitals, alongside leadership in community initiatives.
Her work focuses on relationship violence prevention, cultural safety, and community health education. She founded the Network to Eliminate Violence (NEVR) and co-led an open-access e-book project analyzing global pandemic impacts on relationship violence.
