Dia Campbell-Detrixhe, Ph.D., RN, FNGNA, CNE, FCN is a Professor in the School of Nursing at Oklahoma City University. With a career spanning over three decades, she is certified as a Nurse Educator (CNE) and holds fellowships from the National Gerontological Nursing Association (FNGNA) and other nursing organizations. Her work focuses on gerontological nursing, mental health, community health, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Education: PhD in Nursing Science (2011, Texas Woman’s University), MSN (1997, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center), BSN (1986, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center)
- Certifications: Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), Fellow of the National Gerontological Nursing Association (FNGNA), Fellow of the College of Nursing (FCN)
Her teaching interests include Nursing Research, Successful Aging/Gerontology, Mental Health, and Community Health. Current research spans caregiving for aging populations, therapeutic use of humor and laughter, spousal caregiving, adult day care, and resilience in nurse educators.
- Service: Active member of ONA/ANA, CGNA, STTI, FCNA-OK, and FCNI.
- Awards: Recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Golden Key International Honour Society, and recipient of the Distinguished Award in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Campbell-Detrixhe serves on editorial review boards and has presented her research at numerous conferences.
