Bakary Diaby is an Associate Professor at Skidmore College's English Department. His research and teaching focus on Trans-Atlantic Romanticism, Eighteenth-Century Literature, Aesthetic Theory, Critical Race Studies, and intersections with Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science.

His research explores the interplay between Romanticism and critical analyses of race, gender, and postcolonial identity. He has published extensively on topics such as Black women's roles in Romantic literature and the political implications of aesthetic fragility.
Selected Publications: (1) ‘Feeling Black, Feeling Back: Race, Fragility, and Romanticism’ (forthcoming in Symbiosis) examines racialized vulnerability in Romantic-era texts. (2) ‘Black Women and/in the Shadow of Romanticism’ (European Romantic Review, 2019) analyzes how Black women navigate patriarchal and colonial frameworks in Romantic literary culture.
