Bai Sidi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from MIT Sloan (1997), a Master's from an international university in Japan (1988), and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University (1985). He has held academic positions at institutions including China Europe International Business School (2007-2010), INSEAD (2001-2007), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (1999-2001), and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (1997-1999).
Research interests span innovation strategy, venture capital, entrepreneurial management, and corporate internationalization, with a focus on China's transitional economy and technology management. His work explores how institutions evolve alongside firms, examining topics like startup legitimacy, alliance governance, and regional innovation disparities.
Scientific recognition includes being selected as an Elsevier China Highly Cited Scholar (Business, Management and Accounting) annually from 2014-2020. His publications analyze the interplay between technological learning, strategic alliances, and industry transformation in China.
