Bahram Daneshfar

Bahram Daneshfar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ottawa. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of Ottawa, with advanced expertise in quantitative methods for integrating spatial data for potential mapping.

Dr. Daneshfar's research focuses on applied geostatistics, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and quantitative analysis of spatial data. He has contributed to significant applied research in agro-environmental modeling, particularly in national-scale yield modeling using satellite data.

His scientific contributions were recognized with a Public Service Excellence Award in 2016 for co-developing an innovative satellite-based national yield modeling method at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in spatial data analysis and has delivered specialized workshops in this field, demonstrating strong commitment to academic instruction and knowledge transfer.

Dr. Daneshfar has previously worked in the Earth Observation Sector of the Science and Technology Branch at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where he applied remote sensing and GIS technologies to real-world agricultural monitoring challenges. His interdisciplinary approach integrates Earth observation data with statistical modeling to support decision-making in environmental and agricultural engineering contexts.
