Azza Silotry Naik

Dr. Azza Silotry Naik is an Assistant Lecturer in Food Science and Environmental Health at TU Dublin (since August 2022), affiliated with the Food Innovation and Health Research Centre. Her previous roles include Senior Scientist at Nuritas, Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Limerick and Teagasc, and Assistant Professor at D.Y. Patil University (India).

Her research centers on sustainable valorisation of biological by-products through bioprocessing, focusing on marine/plant sources to develop functional ingredients, bioactive peptides, and preservatives. This work bridges food science, biotechnology, and circular economy principles.

Recent publications (2018-2024) demonstrate consistent focus on sustainable food systems, with themes including marine resource utilization (seaweed, mesopelagic fish), waste upcycling (brewers' spent grain, mussel by-products), and health-focused ingredient development.
