Azar Shahgholian is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, where she also earned her PhD in Business and Management. She holds MSc and BSc degrees in Software Engineering. Her research integrates behavioural information systems, business analytics, and digital transformation, with a focus on human–technology interaction and societal impacts of digitalisation.

Azar’s work is inherently interdisciplinary, combining business analytics, machine learning, and behavioural information systems. Her projects often involve collaboration with SMEs and regional stakeholders, translating technical insights into practical business solutions.
