Associate Professor Ayşe AYDIN UYSAL is a faculty member in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds multiple degrees including a BSc in Psychology from METU (2008), an MSc (2011) and PhD (2015) in Speech and Language Therapy from Anadolu University, and attained Associate Professorship at Üsküdar University in 2024. Her academic trajectory includes prior roles as an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University (2016) and Research Assistant at Anadolu University (2012).
Her research focuses on:
- Stuttering: Phonetic complexity, anxiety, working memory, and genetic associations
- Speech Disorders: Articulation, fluency, and cluttered speech
- Language Development: In monolingual Turkish children and those with dyslexia
- Clinical Tools: Adaptation/validation of psychometric scales (e.g., UTBAS-TR, PAIS-TR)
She leads or contributes to interdisciplinary projects including Camp, Speak, Dream, Live (2025) and an AI-based study on oxidative stress biomarkers in stuttering (2026). Her publications emphasize evidence-based assessment/therapy for speech disorders, with frequent collaborations in psychology, genetics, and education.
As an advisor, she supervises six master's students (2025 cohort) researching stuttering comorbidities, working memory, and language disorders. She currently teaches ten courses spanning fluency disorders, clinical practice, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Administrative duties include student counseling (2024–present).
