Prof. Dr. Ahmet KONROT is a prominent academic in Speech and Language Therapy at Uskudar University. He holds a Professor title in Special Education from Anadolu University (1993) and has served as Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy since 2014. His academic journey includes a BSc from Gazi Education Institute (1971), an MSc in Linguistics from the University of Essex (1978), and a PhD in Linguistics from Essex University (1982).
His research focuses on stuttering, vocal disorders, and interdisciplinary approaches to speech therapy. Notable projects include studies on biochemical markers in vocal loading and the use of semi-occluded nasal tract exercises. He leads multiple national research projects funded by TÜBİTAK and TÜSEB, emphasizing clinical applications and pediatric speech interventions.
Prof. KONROT has supervised numerous theses on stuttering, motor competence, and speech therapy education. He teaches advanced courses in research methodology, clinical linguistics, and motor speech disorders. His administrative roles include Senate membership, leadership at the ÜSESKOM Research Center, and board positions in nonprofit organizations supporting children with disabilities.
His contributions span over four decades, blending clinical practice, education, and research in speech-language pathology.
