Ayesha Alam serves as an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at Lancaster University's Management School while pursuing her PhD. Her academic work centers on consumer vulnerability with specific emphasis on marketplace accessibility for individuals with neurological conditions.
Her research employs role theory to dissect the complexities of social interactions and role negotiations faced by neurologically diverse individuals in commercial settings. Through partnership with NeuroDropIn—a Lancaster-based charity—she investigates how pastoral services impact social interactions and advocacy for inclusive environments, highlighting charitable organizations' critical role in systemic change.
Alam actively disseminates findings through academic channels, including participation in the Academy of Marketing Conference where she presented to mixed professional and scholarly audiences.
