Axel Peter Kristensen is a Researcher in Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo's Department of Sociology and Human Geography, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. His work focuses on demography, family dynamics, economic uncertainty, fertility behavior, gender equality, and quantitative methods. He holds a Master's (2019) and Bachelor's (2017) in Sociology from the University of Oslo, and is currently a PhD fellow there (2021–present).
His research explores topics such as social fathering's impact on childlessness, pandemic effects on fertility, unemployment's relationship with fertility trends, and future narratives influencing fertility intentions. He has held research roles at Statistics Norway (2019) and served as a research assistant in his department (2020–2021).
Key projects include investigating falling fertility and rising social inequalities, contributing to the 'Social Inequalities and Population Dynamics' research group. His work combines demographic analysis with sociological perspectives on gender, economic factors, and policy impacts.
