Axel Methner is a Professor of Neurology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and a clinician-scientist at the University Medical Center Mainz. His work bridges clinical neurology with molecular and cellular research, focusing on neurological diseases and aging.
- Education: MD (Dr. med) in Pharmacology from FU Berlin (1995), Postgraduate Certificate in Molecular Biology (University of Hamburg, 1996), Habilitation in Neurology (University of Hamburg, 2004).
His research experience spans roles as a Principal Investigator at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology Hamburg (ZMNH) and a fellowship in Neurological Intensive Care. His clinical training includes residencies and ICU rotations at Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital.
