Axel Hilling is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Lund University's Department of Business Law within the Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM). He is also affiliated with the Lund Tax Academy. His research focuses on taxation's role in sustainability, particularly addressing how tax law and accounting standards align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He critiques tax competition and aggressive tax planning while advocating for regulatory frameworks to promote equitable resource allocation.
Teaching: Course director for taxation law and sustainability courses (e.g., HARA29, HARH11, HARG30). Supervised award-winning bachelor/master theses. Active in both Swedish and international tax law education across all academic levels at LUSEM and Lund University's Law Faculty.
