Richard Croneberg is an Associate Professor at Lund University's Faculty of Law, Department of Law. He holds dual roles as Researcher at Lund Tax Academy and Public Law division. His work focuses on tax avoidance mechanisms, EU tax policy, and the dual income tax system's adaptation to AI-driven economic changes. Croneberg holds a Doctor of Law (LL.D.) degree and has received prestigious awards like King Oscar II Foundation's scholarship and Emil Heijne Foundation's award for legal research excellence.
Education: Doctor of Law (LL.D., 2021) from Lund University. His research explores how tax rules combat avoidance in national/international contexts, with special attention to the EU's GAAR framework. Current projects include studying AI's impact on taxation systems and the normative effects of Consumer Price Index in Swedish tax laws.
Research interests span tax law, fiscal policy, and the intersection of technology with taxation. He leads two major projects funded by SkatteNytt Foundation and Lund University, examining indexation mechanisms and automation's implications on dual tax systems. His work contributes to UN SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through legal frameworks that promote accountability and equitable taxation.
Teaching involves undergraduate and graduate courses in EU tax law, international tax law, and Swedish tax systems. He received pedagogical recognition including the Juridiska föreningens prize (2019) for teaching excellence. Academic service includes editorial roles in SkatteNytt journal and organizing seminars at Lund Tax Academy.
