Avner Ben-Ner is a Professor at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, with affiliations to the Law School, Center for the Study of Political Psychology, and Graduate Faculty in Applied Economics. He is also a Senior Fellow at Rutgers University's Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing. His research focuses on organizational design, behavioral economics, nonprofit enterprises, and the societal implications of technology and diversity.

Research Interests span organization structure, behavioral economics, nonprofit enterprises, and social preferences. His work examines how ownership type, technology, and cultural diversity affect organizational performance and human behavior. Recent projects include studies on robotics, employee ownership, and societal polarization.
Scientific Awards include the 2019 Outstanding Article Award from Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Senior Fellow recognition at Rutgers University, and inclusion in Who's Who in Economics (1999). He has received grants from the Aspen Institute and Russell Sage Foundation.
Advising and Grants highlight his leadership in academia. He has served as Director of the Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies and held editorial roles. His grants focus on organizational design, trust experiments, and employee ownership dynamics.
