Joseph Blasi is the J. Robert Beyster Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University’s School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) and holds a joint appointment as Professor of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School. He serves as Director Emeritus of the Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing and is a Senior Fellow at The Aspen Institute.

Blasi’s research focuses on the economic sociology of the corporation, corporate governance, and the sociology of work, with emphasis on employee ownership, profit sharing, and broad-based stock options. His work spans industries, regions, and historical periods, including a major study of Silicon Valley equity compensation and 19th-century American economic history.
His scholarship includes 15+ books and articles in British Journal of Industrial Relations, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, and other leading journals. He has participated in policy forums at the White House, U.S. Capitol, and Aspen Institute.
