Avery Dame-Griff, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in the Department of Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies at Gonzaga University. His work bridges technological change, political organizing, and LGBTQ+ history, with a focus on digital humanities and feminist media studies.

Dr. Dame-Griff teaches courses on gender, race, and sexuality in the U.S., LGBT studies, gender and technology, and digital humanities. He founded the Queer Digital History Project, a community-driven archive of pre-2010 LGBTQ+ online spaces. His research highlights how digital platforms reshaped transgender activism from the 1980s to today.
His forthcoming book, The Two Revolutions: A History of the Transgender Internet (NYU Press, 2023), explores the intersection of internet development and trans political movements. He has also contributed to web history and the preservation of primary documents from early LGBTQ+ communities.
