Dr. Austin Fisher is Associate Professor of Popular Culture at Bournemouth University, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and convenor of the Screen Studies Research Group. His research focuses on cultural history and transnational cinemas.

Recent publications explore algorithmic curation of horror films, historical reception of blacklisted Westerns, and age representation in action cinema. His research consistently bridges film history with contemporary digital media contexts.
Dr. Fisher currently supervises PhD students researching Nanjing Massacre films and Nollywood horror cinema. He serves on editorial boards for Transnational Screens and Popular West book series.
