Rev. Austin Collins, C.S.C., is a Professor of Studio Art in the Department of Art, Art History and Design at the University of Notre Dame, and serves as Vice President for Mission Engagement and Church Affairs. He has held roles including religious superior of Holy Cross priests and brothers at Notre Dame (2015–2020), department chair (1997–2003), and trustee/fellow. His work focuses on sculpture addressing political/social issues, with over 140 exhibitions and 50+ public/private collections.
- Education: B.A. (Notre Dame), M.Div. (Graduate Theological Union), MFA (Claremont Graduate University)
- Key Roles: Oversees Tantur Ecumenical Institute (Jerusalem), Notre Dame-Newman Centre (Dublin), and Grotto Network. Liaison to Holy Cross Congregation, U.S. bishops, and Holy See.
His creative practice includes large-scale public sculpture, installation art, and liturgical commissions. Major exhibition venues include Frederik Meijer Gardens, universities nationwide, and international placements. Over 30 public lectures delivered on art and social themes.
