Augustin Simard is an Associate Professor in Political Science at the Faculty of Arts and Science, Université de Montréal, specializing in political theory and history of ideas. He holds a PhD from EHESS, Paris (2005) and a Master's from Université Laval (2000).
- Research Focus: Critique of legal formalism, law-politics interplay, interwar constitutionalism, and transatlantic intellectual transfers. His 2023 book Le droit et son autre examines Otto Kirchheimer's critical legal thought.
- Grants: Multiple awards from FRQSC and SSHRC (2008–2028) for projects on Weimar legal legacies and constitutional reason of state.
- Teaching: Courses in modern political thought and political theory.
