Audra Ong, PhD, is a Professor of Accounting at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. She holds certifications including FAIA (Association of International Accountants), FCIS (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Canada), and Certified IFR (ACCA). Her academic journey includes a PhD from the University of the West of England/Bristol (2000), an MBA from the University of Wales (1992), and a B.A. (Honours) in Accounting from Queen's University of Belfast (1990).
Her research focuses on Accounting Education, Corporate Governance, Financial Reporting, Intangible Assets, and International Accounting. Recent work explores student performance in accounting education and challenges in global accounting standard convergence. She has authored/co-authored multiple books, including *Understanding Financial Reporting Standards: A Non-Technical Guide* (2024) and *Corporate Financial Reporting* (2017).
Dr. Ong has received the 2003 R.S. Olusegun Wallace Best Conference paper award and secured grants such as the SSHRC Exchange Grant (2019) and University of Windsor Research Grants for Women (2019, 2016-17). She serves on the editorial board of the *Journal of Management Research* and has presented at conferences worldwide, including BAFA and AAFA events.
