Dr. Atiqur Khan is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Governance at Roehampton University's Business School, where he explores resilience of banking systems and climate change impacts. Previously, he held a Senior Research Fellowship at Bangor University (UK), supported by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2020-2022). His research focuses on banking sector sustainability, risk management, and macroeconomic dynamics.
Education: PhD in Finance and Banking from the University of Rajshahi (2013), Postdoc in Financial Economics from Bangor University (2022). Professional qualifications include AFHEA and CMBE certifications.
Research interests include regulatory frameworks for green finance, SME decarbonization strategies, and renewable energy economics. Notable projects include €224k EU-funded work on banks' systemic risk in green transitions and a UK project analyzing SME responses to net-zero policies.
Teaching includes banking and finance modules at multiple institutions. Currently supervising two PhD students. Active collaborations span universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia, with funding from bodies like the Development Bank of Wales and Malaysian Government grants.
Key achievements include the MSCA-IF Fellowship (2020-2022) and leadership in projects totaling over €300k. Publications address topics like carbon intensity of M&A activities and bioelectricity feasibility in agriculture-dependent economies.
