Marizah Minhat

Dr. Marizah Minhat is an Associate Professor in Finance and Economics at the School of Management, University of Bradford (UK), within the Faculty of Management, Law & Social Sciences. She holds a PhD, MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Stirling, and a Master of Laws in Financial Law and Regulation from the London School of Economics (LSE). She is a Chartered Accountant with multiple professional fellowships and serves on governance boards like ICAEW Scotland Board and ICAEW Digital Assets Working Party. Her research focuses on governance and risks of financial innovations, including cryptocurrencies, digital assets, Islamic finance, and microfinance, with interdisciplinary emphasis on ethics, human rights, and financial regulation.

Dr. Minhat leads the MSc FinTech programme and founded the Responsible FinTech Research Group at Bradford. Her research projects, funded by Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Malaysian Tax Research Foundation (MTRF), explore cryptocurrency taxation, digital asset valuation, and FinTech governance. She has authored/co-authored books such as 'Cryptocurrency Risk and Governance Challenges' (Routledge) and 'Ethical Discourse in Finance' (Palgrave Macmillan), with publications spanning finance, law, and human rights journals.
