Dr. Athirah Bakhtiar is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia. She holds a PhD from Monash University (2016) and a BPharm (Hons) from International Medical University (2010). Prior to joining Monash, she led the Pharmacology Department at SEGi University and MAHSA University. Her research focuses on medical nanotechnology for cancer and diabetes drug delivery, as well as medication safety in healthcare settings. She is a full-registered pharmacist in Malaysia with clinical experience in hospitals, community pharmacies, and industry.

Research Interests:
Dr. Bakhtiar specializes in nanoparticle-based therapies for cancer (e.g., breast carcinoma) and diabetes, including oral insulin delivery systems. She also investigates clinical medication safety to improve prescribing practices. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation.
