Astrid Lindenlauf is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College, where she also serves as Director of the Graduate Group in Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art. Her research focuses on challenging traditional disciplinary boundaries between archaeology, philology, history, and sociology. She specializes in ancient Greek material culture, particularly practices of disposal/recycling, fortifications, and urban development. Her current project explores the urban evolution of Athens through its walls from the Mycenaean era to the 18th century AD, leveraging new documentation from the Kerameikos district.

Her research also examines Athenian vase biographies, perception, and use. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Greek Vase Painting, the Villa dei Papiri, Ancient Landscapes, and the Archaeology of Rubbish and Recycling.
