Aspasia Simillidou

Dr. Aspasia Simillidou is an Assistant Professor of Tourism and Emotional Leadership at UCLan Cyprus, and Course Leader for the MSc Human Resources Management program. She holds a PhD from the University of Gloucestershire, an MA in Human Resource Management from King’s College London, and a BSc in Business Administration from Intercollege Nicosia.

Her research focuses on emotional labour in hospitality, aggressive customer behavior, stress and burnout in service industries, and emotional intelligence. She teaches hospitality and tourism modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and chairs the MA Hospitality, Tourism, and Events Management program. Dr. Simillidou is a member of the UCLan Cyprus Erasmus Committee and has organized several industry-focused events, including workshops on recruitment, retention, and professional development in hospitality.

Her publications emphasize the intersection of technology (e.g., automation, robotics) and human emotion in service delivery, alongside strategies for managing challenging customer interactions. She has presented widely at conferences such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Reshaping the Hospitality Industry event.
