Asim Mumtaz

Asim Mumtaz is Senior Lecturer in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology at the University of York, where he researches renewable energy systems and power electronics. As Deputy Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in New and Sustainable Photovoltaics, he oversees training programs for doctoral students in solar energy technologies.

His technical expertise includes:

• Silicon carbide power devices
• Photovoltaic micro-inverters
• Li-ion battery management
• Power conversion systems

Mumtaz's industry experience includes co-founding Enecsys Ltd (acquired by Tesla), developing commercial solar micro-inverter technology. His current research advances wide-bandgap semiconductor applications in energy systems.
