Ashley S. Lipson

Ashley S. Lipson is a Professor of Law at the University of La Verne’s College of Law and Public Service since 1998. He specializes in legal education innovation, evidence law, and technology integration in legal practice. He created groundbreaking courses like Videogame Law and Mathematics, Physics, & Finance for Lawyers, and authored over 80 articles and nine books, including the bestselling Guerrilla Discovery and the CLE-accredited Objection! lawyer videogame series.

Research Interests: Legal technology, evidence law, videogame law, interdisciplinary legal education, and distance learning. His work Objection! became the first videogame to receive nationwide CLE accreditation. He also pioneered digital document systems for law offices, including the Lawyer’s Comprehensive Computer Document System.

Publications: Over 80 articles and books spanning evidence, taxation, and legal technology. Recent works focus on predictive coding, mobile learning, and videogame-based legal training. His Mathematics, Physics and Finance for the Legal Profession challenges traditional law school curricula.

Awards: Honors include the Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Award, Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Order of Distinguished Attorneys, and recognition for pioneering work in legal education and technology. He is a member of Intertel, LIM, and the Motion Picture and Television Fund Foundation.

Teaching & Innovation: Teaches 14 standard law courses plus unique electives. Advocated for distance learning modernization, leveraging his background in broadcasting and computer science. Authored casebooks for Videogame Law and Mathematics for Lawyers.

Labs/Teams: Developed the SivPro! interactive learning suite for civil procedure and the Direct Reference Form Filing System. His software solutions are used in law schools, firms, and governmental agencies.
