Ashley Eriksmoen is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Art & Design, Australian National University (ANU). Her interdisciplinary practice bridges environmental ethics, critical design, and sustainable craft. She holds a BSc in Geology (Boston College), an MFA in Furniture Design (Rhode Island School of Design), and a fine woodworking certificate from College of the Redwoods.
Research focuses on sustainability, natural resources, and the sentient connection between objects and human environments. Notable projects include the Witness Tree Project (2012–2016) and collaborations addressing urban timber utilization and habitat preservation. Awards include the 2006 Norwegian Marshall Fund Grant for traditional woodworking research in Norway.
