Ashley Dobrogosz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She teaches courses in dance, including Dance Improvisation, Modern, and Jazz, and advises dance minors. Her professional expertise spans jazz and modern dance, with company experience in Dancin’ Unlimited Jazz Dance Company and Exhale Dance Tribe. She has choreographed musicals such as James and the Giant Peach and Cinderella, and directed the department’s inaugural dance concert Art in Motion.
Education: MFA in Dance from the University of Arizona; BFA in Dance from Radford University.
Research/Practice: Focuses on choreography integration in theatre productions and dance education. Recent work includes presenting Check at the Wisconsin Dance Council Conference (2024) and leading creative teams for UWL SummerStage productions.
Professional Roles: Choreographer for Cabaret (2025), director of Art in Motion (2024), and contributor to multiple departmental productions. Active in the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO).
Advising: Advises dance minors and mentors student performers. Collaborates with faculty on technical direction, scenic design, and stage management.
