Ashley Colley is an Assistant Professor and University Researcher at the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Lapland. She leads the LUX Lapland User Experience Design research group and is actively involved in projects such as MAGICS (National Infrastructure for Human in the Digital World) and AI.R (Arctic AI & Robotics). Her research focuses on user experience design, wearable technology, explainable AI, and human-robot interaction. Colley has received awards including the Best Demo Award at Pervasive Displays 2019 and the Best Paper Award at MUM 2017.
Her work spans diverse areas such as electrochromic displays, interactive graveyards, and AR/VR applications in cultural heritage. Projects like the Struve Geodetic Arc mobile game balance historical accuracy and playability. She has organized events like the New Trends in HCI and Sports workshop and serves on conference committees for MobileHCI and MUM.
