Ashjan Ajour is a Lecturer in Sociology at Birmingham City University, affiliated with the Department of Sociology and Criminology within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. Her research and teaching focus on interdisciplinary intersections of gender studies, sociology, and decolonial frameworks.
- Research Interests: Decolonial feminist ethnography, gendered dynamics of settler colonialism, embodied protest, political subjectivity, incarceration, forced displacement, and global indigenous politics.
Publications & Research Trends: Her 2021 book explores the decolonization of Palestinian bodies through hunger strikes, reflecting her emphasis on feminist and intersectional analyses.
