Asha Heydon-White is a senior lymphoedema therapist and Clinic Co-team Leader at the MQ Health Lymphoedema Clinic, which operates as the treatment arm of the Australian Lymphoedema Education, Research and Treatment (ALERT) Centre at Macquarie University. She holds a Conjoint Associate Lecturer position within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences and is an active member of the Australasian Lymphology Association.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland (2004) and a Master of Research from Macquarie University (2020), where she investigated the role of indocyanine green in assessing breast lymphedema.
Heydon-White has developed specialized expertise in lymphedema management, particularly focusing on breast cancer-related lymphedema. Her clinical work spans multiple specialist clinics including conservative, diagnostic, surgical, and lipoedema clinics. She has undertaken advanced training in indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography, shoulder rehabilitation, myofascial system management, and cancer survivorship.
Her research publications demonstrate a consistent focus on lymphedema assessment and treatment, with particular emphasis on ICG lymphography applications and surgical interventions like liposuction. Recent work examines gender differences in treatment outcomes, head and neck lymphedema, and long-term follow-up of multidisciplinary lymphedema management approaches.
Heydon-White actively participates in professional development and knowledge dissemination through numerous presentations and invited talks, often collaborating with colleagues including Hiroo Suami, Helen Mackie, and Louise Koelmeyer on topics related to lymphatic drainage patterns and anatomical changes in lymphedema.
