Dr. Ash Frazer is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Monash University, specializing in neurophysiology, genetics, and exercise physiology. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity mechanisms, particularly the effects of homeostatic plasticity in the motor cortex on motor function improvement through exercise interventions. She employs techniques like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to explore how these interventions enhance motor learning and strength training outcomes. Dr. Frazer’s work also examines genetic factors such as BDNF polymorphisms and their influence on neuroplasticity.
