Asangaedem Akpan serves as Visiting Professor at the University of Cumbria's Institute of Health and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool, while maintaining active clinical practice as Consultant Geriatrician at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
