Arzu Kibris is an Associate Professor in Political Science and Conflict Studies at the University of Warwick's School of Politics and International Studies (PAIS). She holds a PhD in Political Science (2010) and previously taught at Duke University and Sabancı University. Her research focuses on civil conflict consequences, political behavior analysis, and exposure to political violence. She leads the ERC-funded EXPOVIBE project examining effects of conflict exposure on individual behavior.
Key affiliations include executive coordination of the Network of European Peace Scientists (NEPS), affiliation with the Households in Conflict Network (HICN), and network professorship at Sabancı University. Her work produces influential datasets like TPCONED tracking Turkey-PKK conflict events since 1984.
Research spans conflict diffusion patterns, domestic violence dynamics, and post-conflict psychological impacts. Recent studies address veteran psychological health, economic empowerment's role in domestic violence, and conflict-driven migration of medical workers.
