معرفی
Arthur Christopoulos is a Professor of Analytical Pharmacology and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University, where he also directs the Neuromedicines Discovery Centre. His research focuses on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), exploring novel drug action paradigms and their application to neurological, psychiatric, cardiovascular, metabolic, and pain-related disorders. He has pioneered work in allosteric modulation, structural biology, and translational drug discovery.
Professor Christopoulos has led over 40 research projects, including investigations into adenosine receptor therapies for epilepsy, muscarinic receptor modulators for schizophrenia, and GPCR ligand design. He serves on eight editorial boards, advises multiple companies, and chairs the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR). His accolades include the John J. Abel Award, GSK Research Excellence Award, and Fellowships from the Australian Academy of Science and the British Pharmacological Society.
Key collaborations span institutions globally, with active projects targeting drug-resistant epilepsy, neurocognitive disorders, and GPCR signaling mechanisms. His work integrates computational modeling, medicinal chemistry, and preclinical disease models to bridge academic and industrial drug development.
