معرفی
Dr. Arthur Broadbent is a NERC Independent Research Fellow in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Stirling. His research focuses on global change impacts on soil biodiversity and carbon cycling in mountain ecosystems across the Scottish Highlands and European Alps.
Dr. Broadbent's research interests include:
- Plant and soil microbial community interactions
- Biogeochemical cycle regulation under climate change
- Soil carbon dynamics in high-elevation ecosystems
- Mechanistic understanding of plant invasion processes
- Field-based ecological investigation methods
As a field ecologist, he coordinates a globally coordinated study on soil carbon while maintaining active research programs in multiple mountain regions. He actively seeks PhD students interested in plant, soil or ecosystem ecology through funding mechanisms including the NERC IAPETUS-DTP program, Commonwealth Scholarships, and country-specific funding opportunities.
His professional background includes postdoctoral work at the University of Manchester investigating soil responses to climate change in the Austrian Alps, an Endeavour Research Fellowship in Australia studying invasive plant traits, and a PhD at Lancaster University focused on plant invasions in grasslands.
