Art Dewulf

Art Dewulf is a Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Policy at Wageningen University & Research. His research focuses on governance challenges related to climate change adaptation, sustainable development goals, and policy implementation. He leads international projects examining governance mechanisms for addressing SDG interactions and trade-offs, particularly in East African contexts.

Dewulf's research interests span:

• Climate change governance and adaptation strategies
• Cross-sectoral coordination for Sustainable Development Goals
• Policy analysis methodologies including discourse, framing and narrative approaches
• Stakeholder engagement in environmental decision-making
• Long-term governance of climate adaptation in delta regions

His recent publications (2025) demonstrate consistent focus on governance of sustainability challenges, employing diverse methodological approaches including policy analysis, case studies, and stakeholder engagement frameworks across multiple continents. Research consistently addresses practical implementation challenges at science-policy interfaces.

Currently advises five PhD candidates working on projects related to:
